Tanya received a PhD in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2001 using laser-centered methods to probe molecular structure. She spent 10 years at Ball Aerospace as a Systems Engineer, working primarily in the new business realm, including engineering management of multi-disciplinary engineering teams building prototype lidar instruments for internal and external R&D. Over her two years at the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) as Principal Systems Engineer for their remote sensing division, she shepherded the team through the prototype to product lifecycle, designing the engineering process and leading its successful execution. Tanya has recently started her own consulting business, Sapienne Consulting, focusing on customizing engineering process and engineering organizational assessment. She is also currently in the Executive MBA program at the University of Denver, with expected graduation March 2017.
